Unemployment Affected By Swine Flu and Vice Versa

Many people do not hesitate to reveal the fact that in the beginning of their career graph, they have changed the employment after every six months. Besides, I was also the one sailing in the same boat. This might be the reason when someone used to talk about negative impression of unemployment, I used to wonder that why don’t they simply switch over to other workplace instead of crying over the split milk. However, after a course of time, I have realized the definition of unemployment. Changing over the jobs for the sake of better prospects is completely different than getting fired from a settled career without many options left in the market.

A situation in which half a million of the people have been laid off or dismissed because of the malfunction of the economy such as recession or inflation is the basic element to understand the definition of unemployment. An unemployed is the individual that is seeking the job actively and still do not get an employment. Most of the times, the unemployment is being scaled on the ratio combined with the numbers of jobs available and the sum of community members that are in search of a means to earn their bread and butter. There are smart players in the market such as Microsoft, Gartner, Dell, and IBM along with the others that have predefined the conditions to fight with certain havocs such as swine flu. This is how they may save their business from hurtful side effects of the epidemic and do not have to be the reason of the unemployment.

However, if we look at the set obligations to alleviate the unemployment affected by swine flu, it will surely create a dilemma within a second. In the year 2009, when this disease was the reason of the concern for both employee and employers, many hospitals in New York have made a compulsion to take swine flu vaccine for their workforce. They have made it very clear that either you take the vaccination or you will be fired! On one hand, the organizations were taking these steps to prevent their workers from getting affected by the syndrome, on the other citizens were worried about being killed or paralyzed by the same.

Such scenario will certainly create a quandary because now you have to choose between your career and health or life to be precise. When unemployment is already on its peak, pay-cut is the current happening for most of the wage earner and getting fired because your company is closing the branch, devastation like swine flu with these conditions are really a mess. What is more, even there were cases in which the employee is ill due to this flu for more than two weeks or so and because the company could not afford their absent, the worker has lost the job. Increasing number of this sort of circumstances is also one of the instances that elaborate unemployment affected by swine flu.

However, the state of affairs can also be seen other way round. This is because of the swine flu and its exaggeration in the society, people are likely to avoid going out more, shop less, and travel a little. This further affects the demand and supply equation. The companies have already manufactured a huge amount of materials considering the normal mandate of their product or service in the market. Still, because of the flu, they are facing a great loss and hence, they fire their workers to meet their expenses. This is how swine flu affects unemployment and the number of joblessness grows for the obvious reasons.

Whether the idleness happens due to swine flu vaccination, or because of the jumble in demand and supply, one cannot overlook the fact that these are the added reasons for the unemployment. Even if the number of death ratio caused by swine flu is not much high, it becomes a disaster when the people are already under the pressure of the debt trap. Here, swine flu affects unemployment like anything that further harm the society with stress, anxiety, and frustration. Chances are the immune system of the community loses its control and more and more people face allergies, exhaustion, and cold.
